Kiss me, you're beautiful
(deja vu from about a year ago)
The car is on fire, and there's no driver at the wheel
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
And a dark wind blows
The government is corrupt
And we're on so many drugs
With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
And the machine is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The buildings tumbled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies
Picked through the rubble
And pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said, "Kiss me, you're beautiful -
These are truly the last days"
You grabbed my hand
And we fell into it
Like a daydream
Or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down
For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my wallet
And it's full of blood
-The Dead Flag Blues

the other day something made me think about the smell of summer and being in your car. and waking up on cold mornings.
i didn't mind.
-
for the past week been listening to amberhaze, which lead me to stumble across this:
http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=88425596&blogId=504527897
both are very good chilled listening.
-
i think it probably wouldn't of worked out. i don't think you wanted it to. which sort of defeats the point to start with, so all in all it's ok.
-
shoplifting from american apparel should be out soon. it makes me happy.
-
can i get a hellsyah. hellsyah. word, and i think we're ready to rock.
i didn't mind.

Lost Children Net Label
I really like Lost Children...ok that sounds wrong.
They are a net label that not only host a whole load of really great bands, but they also release all of their stuff for free. (free=awesome)
Their website opens with
"Lost Children is a small netlabel for Instrumental/Experimental/Post-Rockish kind of bands. We aim to provide you with free downloads of EPs and Full Lengths...Releasing music for free on a netlabel may seem like an odd ideology in a world where fame and wealth are often coveted, but the bands and releases associated with Lost Children display a passion for music wherein they would prefer that people heard and enjoy their work regardless of whether they benefit personally."
Can't really complain with that. There's a ton of really cool stuff on thier site, and I think that they are really worth supporting.
If you like "Instrumental/Experimental/Post-Rockish" bands and fancy some free musics check them out at the following links:

I'm baaaack
Sup, how's it hanging? Miss me?
So, wasn't the most amazing festival ever, think that award goes to last years, but it was pretty good none-the-less. Made friends with a lot of the neighbours and got a fair few nights of raving in there. The fecking security wombles put a bit of a downer on things, but overall it was alright. I'd say a solid 7/10.
Things that were absolutely amazing were seeing Brand New and Thursday. AFI were really rocking and I wished they had played for longer. Placebo were good as usual and I heard 65daysofstatic for the first time - really liked them, so I'm currently looking for thier stuff. From the set they seem like a bit of a ravey version of explosions... :D
